Unbelievable how from a single chapter to another all the narrative about holy knights change. Now they are "fodder" because they will fight with the non monster trio strawhats or non strawhats (giants, Gaban). It will be some skirmishes of course before the main fighting trio will come in. It's basic shonen manga, the holy knights will get some feat and will become to the eyes of everyone (characters and readers) as more than dangerous. Oda is taking his time, like he always do and should do, to build up the main antagonist force of the arc.
