Haki is the ultimate hax negator - if Gaban can't save Colon from some thorns it just means his haki isn't strong enough.
Oden was fighting Kaido who was also a top-tier so that false equivalency makes zero sense. There is no evidence of a top-tier losing to a non top-tier despite any disadvantageous circumstance.
Garp was tricked by Shiryu and still bodybagged the guy. Garp actually proves my point perfectly because even with being tricked by Shiryu who is likely Yamato level himself, Garp bodied him and the BBP still needed a top-tier in Kuzan to take down Garp - and that was effectively a solo Garp, imagine if he had two YC1s and a YC2/3 as backup. There are no top-tier HKs here so Gaban has no excuse if he's as strong as you people say he is. Like I said, we're all watching him - in fact, I literally just said I don't see Gaban losing to Sommers. Seems like it's y'all who are tryna get that damage control in early lmao.

This was honestly the most dogshit piece of writing oda could have done. It was only in place so Law doesn't neg diff Pig Meme's fatass then later used it to make sure Law didn't become a transgender vs Doc Q. Literally makes paramecia DFs useless vs strong haki users
In this case, I don't think Gaban (or any strong haki user for that matter) will be safe from those thorns. Makes no narrative sense to have that power then. I don't think it's because his haki isn't strong enough but because oda would just want Gaban getting harmed trying to save Colon for the plot to continue. After all, this shit was just a cheap plot convenience so BM doesn't get neg diffed so oda will conveniently forget it for another scenario because of the inconsistent fraud he is.
Anyways I don't see Gaban doing bad vs Sommers and Qilingham. His portrayal is relative to Rayleigh's and oda loves wanking Ray so he should probably do the same to Gaban before he gets defeated by a far stronger opponent

It’s pretty clear Sommers is a credible threat given he was the replacement for Shamrock, so he should be peaking into the top tier category. Also why are you counting a YC3 at best in Jimbei doing anything.

Lol the entire Brazil team outside of Raphinha is so garbage it's insane. Never seen a less intimidating Brazilian side. I remember the 2016-2019 machine they were and were practically unbeatable, it was a miracle for most people to see them losing to Belgium at the time. They may have only won one Copa America but it was one of the scariest teams I've seen, especially as an Argentina fan back then.
