There are too many strawhats for sure. But it would still be doable.
What makes things unbearable is that the strawhats crew isn’t the only thing that’s bloated, there’s too much filler in the entire manga. Unnecessary side characters, unnecessary side-plots everywhere

Arc side characters are important
Oda should remove Usopp chopper Robin Brook Franky Jinbei from story and whole story will become better

These characters shouldn't be part of main cast, only steal panels from more important characters

Sure, but were 9 scabbards necessary? Were 7 vegapunks necessary? Were all those headliner pages in the raid necessary?

For example Water 7 was perfect, it was just CP-9 + Paulie and Iceberg that stood out and left an impact. But these days when an arc is over I couldn’t be happier to leave all those annoying redundant side characters behind
