Big mom doing that makes her a jobber (like as in the literal use of that term from wrestling) and maybe the feats of law and kid worse, classic PiS case, not ok but manageable
Luffy doing that shit in egghead means he did not put the life of his crewmates in perril not once, but twice (seraphim, than gorosei)
It also unironically makes Luffy indirectly responsible for getting Vegapunk partially killed, making Kuma and Bonnie suffer as he was forced to save bonney under gruesome hardship and it character assinates Luffy to boot
Like this is not some powerscalling foupa this is a major writing flaw

The weakness is probably some sort of ACoA emission. It's not a real weakness, though, because I think they are still very conscious, and it's only temporary. It might not work with advanced Haki users, such as the Gorosei and Shamrock.
Sadly, I think the real weakness will eventually fall on ACoC, which Luffy will need to find by himself.

Huge difference too is that BM never complained about being unable to hurt Kid and Law like Luffy did. For BM you can always rationalize in character that she wanted to preserve stamina or that she simply prefers fighting with her homies. (For example she used a homie combo against Ulti instead of acoc punch even though Ulti > P1)
For Luffy there's zero way to justify it after he verbatim said he cant hurt them no matter what he does (=his entire arsenal is useless)

The fact that Oda expressly had Chopper inquisitive about what Gaban did
Should throw any established ability we know of out the window in terms of what stops the regen.
Oda does not hint at new techniques/abilities for it to be revealed to be something we already had on hand.
Whether it's a new application of Haki or something else entirely. It 100% is something none of the strawhats have right now.
