You dont understand, if imu was that strong it wouldnt make sense! He could just appear in wano and neg diffed everyone! The gorosei are afraid of Kaido. In a 1 and 1 bet on koido! World Strongest Swordsman title card! Wifi haki!
People will legit read a story and with zero irony or self reflection go "why did the story not end when the hero gets murdered in Chapter 1 by the villain if they are so strong?!" in every shonen and it will never not be funny to me.

Imu just casually walked up, introduced himself to Cobra and had a whole conversation
He didn't even order his death the Gorosei took it upon themselves to kill him because imu wanted to say what up

We don‘t see the majority of the island, but we can see Jarul in the village. Either it hasn’t reach that far or it‘s too weak to knock them out.
We do know it reached the Giant Warriors, but it‘s only shown knocking out some of them.
Joy Boy took out an entire Marine fleet bar an Admiral and sent the Gorosei packing. This was really pretty tame.
Albeit it is only a vessel, but the CoC this chapter seems explicitly less impressive than Joyboy’s. There was even the opportinuty for Dorry/ Broggy to react like they did on Egghead and we got nothing.
I don’t think the actual length of the black streaks of lightening actually matters at all tbh.

Katakuri's fruit acts like a logia even though it's a paramecia.
Luffy's fruit even though just a mythical zoan works on other people as well (the eye popping is a frequent example).
Marco's healing can work on others too.
Teach's logia fruit doesn't work like a logia at all and has completely unique abilities.
Doflamingo's fruit can control others and even make perfect clones.
The jacket fruit can turn a person into an item which can increase another person's fighting ability.
There's many examples of fruits having abilities that you wouldn't expect them to have.

Honestly the devil contract is too op, I hope there is a limitation or Imu can control every person in the world.

"Oda would not introduce a new power system this late in the game" people when you remind them Oda literally retconned Luffys devil fruit into a divine zoan with zero fucks given after 1000 chapters of him being the rubber guy.
Legit anybody still in denial yes, Oda will introduce magic because he liked Black Clover or saw a stage magician some day and thought the power system was dope with ZERO hesitation on his part.
That man does not give a FUCK about something being "too late" to be introduced. Chances are it will take 20 year before the story is over anyway!
Haki is also arguably already one of if not the worst power system in main stream shonen and pretty much soft and uncreative reality warping. Nothing is lost via Oda at least TRYING to make something better than it or expanding upon it with magic.
Hell, if he REALLY wants to, Oda can just go “Imu just has such strong Haki/willpower they gaslight themselves into thinking magic is real and thus magic is real” in an SBS in ten years. Who cares? Either way, it sure as shit is something new.
The ancient kingdom was the ENEMY of Imu with stupidly advanced sci-fi tech and world altering super weapons that make Vegapunk look like a drooling moron in comparison. And judging by Gunkos transformation? Imu was the giant devil thing several hundred times larger than even ancient giants that wrecked said Ancient Kingdoms ass and erased them.
It wont be tech, nor a devil fruit, that makes imu this stupidly strong.
