I mean in both it places him as weaker. Atleast sanji being the wings of both luffy and zoro gives him more of the role as being the wings....so technically that should be a benefit to sanji wing enthusiasts

Hard disagree. He could not have kept it as something simple. Why? Say we take your route of how you wanted the haki system to remain, oda would have still had to introduce further intricacies with it due to the fact that logia/devil fruit users would also be allowed to use haki. Which means it would still be a battle of "which haki is supreme "

Latakuri is vastly overrated that bum spent all his efforts into honing his CoO. Ray said people usually pick one haki they prefer and hone it but you achieve much more if you can train all haki types. Latakuri is the former overall disappointment
