@Sentinel

What if the demonic theme is a trap and Imu actually has the paintress fruit from Clair Obscure? Turn anything they paint to life or rewrite reality through artwork.

Would be Joy Boy’s anti-thesis, where Joy Boy represents inherited will and liberation, and Imu paints over will with censorship and control. The Elbaph Mural might entirely by a clue by itself of Imu's true ability.

:DeepThink:
The paintess was able to casually rip realities apart like it was nothing. Imu would wish to gain this kind of power but honestly, I'd be thrilled to see Imu using this kind of power instead of going the route "Well, I'm just the super duper evil demon king and now I'm gonna use my demon army to kill my enemies!"

I also agree with your take how Imu's power could be the writer/painter of the world while Joyboy/Nika would be the actor since he can shape his own reality with his imagination and physical body - everything turns into toon force which gets touched by Luffy. Everything gets painted/rewritten by Imu's drawing ability.

Definitely.

Aside form the crew thing, which I thought was more general, It has happened as I said It would: It was just Luffy using this to free him. There wasn't anything personal whatsoever.

At the end of the arc, who knows, but now Luffy sees Loki only as a means to and end.
Luffy wouldn’t ask him to join if he didn’t think he wasn’t a good person. Luffy likes Loki
