Also Oda’s moving surprisingly fast with this flashback

Harald met his first lover -> had Hajrudin -> changed his ways to become a good king -> met his first lawful wife -> had Loki

Alll in one chapter

I’m rocking with Elbaf’s pacing so far
David/Solomon parallels?

1Kgs.11:1-13 -
"Now King Solomon loved many foreign women (...) Therefore the LORD said to Solomon, "Since this has been your mind and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant. Yet for the sake of David your father I will not do it in your days, but I will tear it out of the hand of your son."

Slow? Are you retarded? Chapter speedran Harald becoming good, meeting his first wife, Hajrudins birth, meeting his second wife and Lokis birth.

What more do you want lol.
What happened in th plot? Nothing. That speedrun gave no useful plot points... People know nothing about what to look for in pacing. . Remove this chapter nothing changes..

The pacing is good but I expected more from Harald's story
"He fell in love and changed" is the most basic way to write his character
He was an absolute asshole, so I expected something more complicated and new
I think the angle is more: he was an asshole who never was told no. And now that someone is holding him accountable, he respects them annd loves them for it and wants to live up to their expectations of who he could be instead of who he is.

It’s not just he fell in love with a pacifist, he was humbled by her spirit.
