I agree with this. Mihawk is the pinnacle of swordsmanship which is closely tied to haki as well. But he can be the pinnacle of swordsmanship which is the art of cutting (as Koushiro pointed out) and still not necessarily be guaranteed above someone who has more crude swordsmanship but equally powerful or overall mastery of different aspects of haki or df.

There is no doubt Shanks will have superior mastery of CoC over Mihawk, easiest bet ever. Oda uses Shanks as the golden standard for CoC.

I will wait for the chapter to drop and update my current standing on the matter. For now I believe Mihawk and Zoro are more purists, Shanks and Roger types are all rounders with inferior swordsmanship but not inferior overall necessarily.
Logically, you cannot be the best swordsman without being stronger than all swordsman. Swordsmanship in OP is hardly ever been confined to just cutting attacks.

Koshiro literally says to not cut is the pinnacle of swordsmanship.

Shanks is a snitch? No, it was actually Shamrock snitching to the Gorosei

Shanks is fish food? No, he let Lord of the Coast bite his arm off to remove the HK mark

Shanks got scarred by Base Teach over 14 years ago as a rookie? No, it was actually Xebec piloting Teach’s body that scarred Shanks

Oda just won’t let any Shanks slander slide

In reality ,there is no need for more most of the time.Pullups and Rows ,2 of the best back exercises ,you almost hit everything :pepebusi:

If you want ,maybe try the Rows "Yates Style" if you know them in the future.
it‘s a nice variation :pepehawk:
Dorian Yates is a living legend & by faaaaar, my favorite in bodybuilding.

Ive tried the Yates version but i still like to row fully bentover, almost like an RDL with the plates sometimes even tapping the floor.

if Sanji ends this story without being the greatest cook ever he will be the most worthless character of this Manga
How will he prove that he’s the greatest cook ever?

that’s the problem with you guys, you don’t think about how exactly you expect everything to happen

we can tell Luffy will be the Greatest pirate ever because we literally see the First pirate himself, Joyboy, and Luffy is going to beat Imu, the man who beat the Greatest pirate, Joyboy… No guess work needed here… it’s clear as day

what exactly can Sanji do to somehow prove he’s the greatest cook ever? A thing that is somehow provably shown to be impossible by any cook who’s ever lived in all 3 worlds for 6000 years of One piece history. Can you even think of such a thing? Has Oda set up any such thing?

same for Zoro, for Zoro to be the “greatest swordsman ever” you would have to argue that on the one piece planet, there exists the “Current greatest swordsman ever” that Zoro will fight and defeat… who is that? Who is walking around the OP world right now that’s stronger than Ryuma, Roger, Xebec and any other swordsman who has ever lived? Who? Mihawk? Shanks? Nusjuro? You think any of these bums are stronger than fucking Roger?

Who would Oda give the “World’s Greatest Marksman” title to?
The problem with this argument is not only Mihawk's title which is "Strongest" but Zoro's path to become WSS.
All he wanted and want is beating Mihawk in a duel.
All he was thinking and think is "strength".
He himself said that he can't lose to a swordsman.

Shanks ethier a swordsman and weaker or at best equal to Mihawk or he is just not a swordsman after all.
There is nothing in a middle of it.

This is the point where you keep making random distinctions that no longer exist thanks to Xebec. Where has it ever been stated that Mihawk is the world's strongest (cutting) swordsman lool, or that shockwave sword attacks are any less impressive than cutting sword attacks?

Mihawk is the pinnacle of swordsmanship. No one cares about whether the attack cuts, pushes, destroys from the inside — literally nobody gives a toss; as long as it is considered swordsmanship, Mihawk represents the pinnacle alive. Amongst the characters alive, swordsmanship does not get stronger than what Mihawk is able to produce. It's seriously that simple. Shanks can have stronger CoC if he wants that's cool, but all we know is that the sum of all parts that makes up swordsmanship is greater with Mihawk than it is with Shanks. Period.

Didn't Oden say he had the greatest sword style even though he sailed with Roger?

I think this might be another example of someone being stronger in pure swordsmanship but not necessarily stronger as a whole.

I'm curious if someone has the raws for that Oden panel. @Kurozumi Wiwi @Albino 👑 ? I want to see if the word strongest was ever used.

Not surprisingly but leaching off Xebec hype to try and wank mihawk instead of Blackbeard is crazy

People do the same with Shanks
  1. As if Blackbeard isn’t the only one to scar shanks with his blade
  2. As if they haven’t had the longer rivalry since childhood to this day as emperors
  3. Both of them taking after Roger and Whitebeard who were also rivals
  4. We don’t know but if Xebec and Garling were also rivals back in the day even more insane their connection
