Great chapter. Oda was even more specific about Rocks' skull design on his jolly roger, including that one specific swirl in it. I really wonder what that's about.
Also, Loki's fixation specifically on "the world" seems less nefarious as him being into Rocks plan of conquering the world. I reckon it's more about Loki simply wanting to escape from his island of isolation and hate than it is about taking over everything. It was his first exposure to humans so seeing a new perspective after his shit ass upbringing was probably refreshing. Don't deny that he does seem slightly interested in overwhelming others thowever.

My guess is that Xebec saw something valuable about Imu and wanted to keep him as his subordinate or use his power to make him King of the World.
Imu didn't kill Xebec maybe because he doesn't have the key DFs to do anything to him. CoC alone probably isn't enough to kill him. To him, Joyboy is the number one enemy. Maybe Joyboy gave him bigger trouble than Xebec predecessor did. Right in current timeline, Imu still doesn't give a damn about Teach and only go for Luffy.
