i think the reason why he wasn't there was so he could give us an (inaccurate) summary of what went on and build up mystery of God Valley, like why Roger protected the Celestial Dragons and the fate of Rocks.

but i'm hoping he makes an appearance in this flashback or another flashback like this where he just shows up and clashes with Roger or another top figure, like Garp did this chapter
