Yeah I really like that Whitebeard didn't betray him after all, it's truly consistent with his character and respects him. Whitebeard respected him enough to serve under him after all ofc. I kinda feel he might have seen him as a dumbass older brother but not as affectionately either lol.
But also, if he learns Xebec is trying to save his family, his wife and baby son, that will open Whitebeard's eyes a lot and make him respect Xebec a lot more I imagine.
