I never thought oda would do roger this bad. Zero moment where he stands above his contemporaries like garp or WB. Oda didn't even allow him to use rookie Kaido as a hype tool :kobeha:

I always thought the appeal of someone like Roger is that he had multiple characters on his level

People constantly complain that Luffy has no real rivals in strength near his age but when Oda does it with Roger it’s a bad thing?

Back during Oden's flashback people excused Roger being matched by fruitless WB due to him being "sick" ,even though the dialogue between them suggested it had no real impact on hi strenght at that point of time. Now they excuse him and Garp being portrayed as dead equals by Roger still having much growth in the future (a 39 yo man that had aCOC for years and decades of piracy under her belt btw)
This is getting ridiculous ngl.
I said a few times already but since Joyboy became Luffy "true" parallel, Oda doesn't care that much about making Roger special anymore. He's just a very strong peak top tier

As much as I make fun of the retarded haki lightning bros and haki suprass all Dumbo's parroters I think it's reasonable to expect that dodger showed something amazing in Gv for making Kaido so impressed
