Yeah he kinda know that Oden would be a bog trouble if he also team up with Hyo. Oda portrayal is more clean, Kaido and Oden are on similar lvl but wano behind Oden would be to much for Kaido and he know this back then. And know we know why people still respect him,it was because he saved their lifes back then. In Oden case I can at least understand his choice here but he should really prepar himself as Kaido did with a b plan. I would try out to call Whitebeard and his crew for help during the 5 years, where the moment if Kaido breaks his deal. Then Oden would kill him off with Whitebeard. Im mean it didn't even need to be Whitebeard, teaming up with Hyo and the daimyos and making a plan to take out Kaido if he break the plan,that would be already enough. We know even after Oden death,Kaido need 2 years together with his crew to take out the Daiymos and Samurai of Wano, no way for him to having a chance to beat Oden together with all Daiymos. It is kinda sad that Oden didn't make a plan b,but at least the reason is understable for me,Oden really didn't have any choice back then.

Kaido was not 5 years old in Rox. The silhouette shown during the Rox showed that Kaido was "Grown up". At the VERY LEAST, I would say he was 18. AT THE VERY LEAST. NO WAY below that. The right age for that body mass is probably 22 or 25. But let's assume the WORST and make it 18.
This was 41 years ago. Oden's war with Kaido happened 20 years ago. so 21 + 18 = 39 years old
If that is NOT Prime age, then people are fucking fooling themselves.
And I know some people will say "Oh no, now he's much stronger"
and when Luffy defeats him, the same people will say "well, Kaido got older, he's in his 60s, so he lost his strength.
Oden missed Kaido's prime
And Luffy missed Kaido's prime
Like I said, these are just excuses. Plain and simple.

True, but it seems Oden wasn't going all out at that point, because in the encounter 5years later, the dialogue says Oden even surpassed Kaido's imagination. It's just that from what he saw from Oden, he knew he'd be a terrible threat. I like the little detail Oda added in their clash though(the conqueror haki clash) which was kinda lacking in the final encounter
It make me little shock to see Kaido beeing almost the same as Orochi. When I see Kaido firsttime and also with Big mom, I though he isn't the guy who use cheap tricks, he beeing someone who search extrem battles with equal people,yet he was really poor against Oden. It give me the vibe that Kaido always search weaker character which he can one shot but using cheap and dirty tricks against stronger enemies. Never though Kaido character would almost the same as Orochi.
I prefar more know for Team Luffy, beat that trash ass out of Wano!!!

This was AT LEAST 18 years old grown up man. AT LEAST, THE MINIMUM. Normal age would be fucking 22 - 25. And I'm still giving the benefit of the doubt ad give the VERY LEAST
