Why would Lin Lin not kill Jinbei?
She was in an awesome mood thanks to the cake. Plus Jinbe had a very powerful soul, one strong enough to defy even her, so that might have been appealing enough for her to let him go. Why kill him if you could have his powerful soul? Plus depending on how many years she took, Jinbe might be due to die very soon so I think it's a pretty neat deal from Lilin's perspective.

What does Jinbei's presence really changes to her story ? Even with his return the alliance is still not enough to take on two yonkos and I have still the feeling that her story with Elbaf is not done yet.
It gives the alliance a powerful fighter. Also, it shows that escaping a Yonko isn't that difficult.

Besides it would be absurd if she's taken out of the story with most of her crew and children, including her mentor Streusen, and one of her Special Homies being absent.
That's absurd and that is exactly what seems like is going to happen. That's how Oda is writing BM. She is the one Yonko everyone laughs at.

So...did some people forget that two friends of the straw hats had to get sacrificed for the escape from WCI? How is that not showing how threatening this thing was? People keep forgetting about that...
Pedro?
Hardly anyone actually cared for him. His death was utterly emotionless and meaningless to most readers.

I still think that Katakuri actually set Jinbei & Co. free (we saw how he asked Luffy to defeat BM in the end), but if we get another lackluster explanation aka "Hey guys, I just successfully escaped!" this makes WCI so much worse.

At this point I actually don't even care how Oda treats BM or Kaido. I just don't feel any sense of danger and that ladies and gentlemen is just "bad writing" in terms of developing the villains.

Let's take Togashi again (just one example). He knows how to build his villains and develop them. Introduced the chimera ants and showed them murdering innocent civilians, even kids. Depicted Pitou murdering Kite in cold blood right at the start. That's how you set the tone for an arc and its villains. Not to mention the utter brilliance of Meruem's character development afterwards.

We're standing here and nobody even takes the villains seriously. In a way Akainu is the most intimidating foe right now and even he doesn't ooze terror.

That just seems dumb, but I guess Oda wants her to be like that? Why would she let Jinbei live. He betrayed her, fought against her, helped the SH's escape, punched her so hard and knocked her off the ship. They stole Zeus, tarnished her reputation. And because of the cake she just let him go, because?

I REALLY doubt it, it would make BM look even worse in the long run. How would Oda explain that? Big Mom just took his lifespan and then let him leave? Or she imprisoned him and he escaped?
But Big mom ALSO took Pedro's life span and let him leave. Hell she literally gave Pedro an escort and ship to leave WCI

You are assuming Big mom is more unreasonable than she actually is
