A DF user doesn't get weaker just by touching water. Their body needs to be submerged in order to be weakened by it. And Oven can heat up Wadatsumi who was underwater. He can do a lot.

On land the boy would be fish strew. But in the Ocean he's like 10x stronger then he normally is AND has an escape route. He was literally only staying in there long enough for the SHs to escape

A df user get affected by sea water and that is the basic principle of one piece...even Luffy can stretch for some time and Robin also did for sometime.....Luffy loses his powers just by touching seastone bars....so no, he can't do it for long time
