I was thinking today when Straw hats meet Shanks and Zoro sees Shank's sword, do you think he will ask Shanks to cross swords with him with Shanks dropping more lore about his past with Mihawk because we know nothing of Mihawk's past except his legendary duals with Shanks.

Honestly i don't think he even has to ask i hope oda will do something big here with luffy... luffy was right there at zoros fight with mihawk he sat there patiently and observed the loss and the promise from zoro and how important that goal is for him. Luffy stated as a kid that his crew would be better than shanks crew what better way to see if his crew is better than to let zoro fight shanks (defeating him would be totally up to oda), but to see a fight between the two where they stalemate or just split the sky like bb and bm did in the manga is more than enough as by the time zoro gets to mihawk he has to be stronger than shanks. Shanks could acknowledge how close zoro is to mihawk as well
