Episode was nice.

There wasn't much animation in the first half, but there was plenty of nice art, layouts and directional choices that made it engaging. I like how the camera would pull in focus on things. That was a neat directional trick I enjoyed. Stuff like them giving a mid shot before zooming in for a shaky extreme close up.

The only good stuff from the first half animation wise was maybe some neat smeary stuff by Tetsuro Nireki during the throw. Otherwise, the art was really nice.

Second half was a heap better though. The music placement, direction and storyboard was just as engaging. There was some nice stuff in the storyboard that allowed Kazuya Hisada's layouts to shine through, especially during Big Mum's rampage, and during Luffy using Ryou.

Animation wise, the second half picked up, but we don't know exactly what everyone did sadly. Here's the scenes that are confirmed. Mitchell Gonzales handled a nice scene of Big Mum rampaging. Love his really smeary work. His a talented free lancer who the show is lucky to have.

Kazuya Hisada has been really nice in Wano. His layouts and poses have been consistently on point. Really hope to see more of this sort of Hisada from him. This scene is presumed, but it looks exactly like his work and is at least heavily corrected by him.

Overall, a really nice episode with nice art, solid enough direction and storyboarding, and some tasty bits of action animation.

Next episode features Tu Yong Ce making his debut as animation director and holy shit the animation in the preview is incredible. Major props to him.
