Good episode

Luffy is kinda lucky Chopper was there otherwise he could’ve been in trouble.

I like the rivalry they are trying to built up again between Luffy and Kidd.

Man I feel so bad for Ashura Douji he waited so long and he had no guarantee they would even return. It was just really good seeing Ashura Douji, Kinemon and Inurashi together again.

I like that Luffy was trying to motivate Momo also Momo looked pretty badass at the end there with the encouragement from Luffy.

Yep.

This episode was fantastic. Holy crap.

Not much going on the animation front, but loads of stuff going on in every single other visual aspect that contributed to an atmosphere that does a fantastic job selling the fantastic emotional beats of the episode.

The episode director and storyboard artist Yasunori Koyama blew it out of the park. Even though One Piece may not be the best animated long running show around(because there's plenty of strong competition), its certainly a show that has been consistently trying to get creative, especially in Wano.

Next episode also looks like its going to be fantastic.

  • I feel sorry for the poor schmuck who has to draw and animate all the junk in Kid's arm.
  • Even a mother and her baby got in on this brutality. :akaman:

  • Sunacchi as a death cry that costs your own soul is a powerful visual. Beautiful scene.

  • NGL, I kinda wanted a horrifying end with silhouette Kaido and his boys slaughtering the invaders.catded
  • Pinky and Inu not dancing a little jig together is a high crime. :pepeshit:

  • I like how Kiku insists on keeping the mask on even when people start questioning Raizo's age. A true woman never reveals her age!

  • Child Oden would have caught that boulder and thrown it back at Luffy.

  • Closing out the episode by going back Ashura was clever. All the samurai on the same page now.
Damn, what a good episode. The entire thing focused on the same theme of the samurai mustering their resolve. Excellent OST choices, especially at the end. The cool visuals with the samurai giving up their spirits, Luffy vs Momo's extended struggle, and Momo running away from himself really added intensity and emotional weight. That's how you bring up an episode that by content alone should have been worse than last week. Next week looks like the hype is back.

Going in and knowing the content that would be adapted, I didn't expect to enjoy this episode as much as I did.

Certainly, Wano's creative direction and animation style elevates the manga content multiple folds. Add to that terrific OST choices and Voice acting and you get a darn solid episode out 12 pages of standard manga content.

Much respect to Momonosuke's VA. Emotional performance.

The episode is about the samurai discovering their grit and determination clinging to the last ray of hope and getting over the disappointment of the past. Not groundbreaking stuff story wise, but building the emotional stakes for the war.

Kid's ability looked sexy as hell tho. Need more Kid in general, but definitely more in this style.

Preview looks like Hiyori's hubby will go crazy on some ninja ass :madmonk: Can't wait.

Enjoyed Momo and the Ashura scenes this episode the kid has grown a lot as a leader even if he needs a little pushing at times. Ashura backstory was beautiful as well showing what he and his men went through. Couldn't help but smile once he decided to join seeing the serious Ashura smiling making fun of Kinemon was nice to see. Next we have Big mom and Kaido's clash Zoro obtaining Enma the anime is going to be great from here on despite the slow pacing really exciting stuff ahead.
