Didn't they say they will "update" the humour for the LA because the manga is so old? How I read that is they will try to make this shit 'funny' to zoomers who unironically laugh at tiktok cringe.

That's arguably the worst part of this whole trailer: it feels nothing like One Piece but something from the average "writer" who can only build a plot following the hero's journey and whose sole talent is discussing TV Tropes in Reddit because they want to be ground-breaking without first knowing what "ground" and "breaking" means.

Freaking brainless "authors" that are everywhere in popular media today.

I don't get this thought process of "modernisation" of media. People follow the manga because of how it is, humour included.

Instead of keeping the essence of the manga though, it looks like they are going to turn One Piece into Guardians of the Gala-Sea because apparently only Marvel's patented incessant quipping "humour" is allowed. :tchpepe:

Leaving criticism (and rightly deserved so) aside.

The manga is like 3-5 years away and no way they're going to reveal the One Piece before that.

Since Netflix series are once yearly with only 8-12 episodes, they will all look different in 5 years time.
