Me logging on and seeing another notification from @Light D Lamperouge:


1. The original usually beats the retread...this is no exception.

2. Luffy slamming a Pacifista with ease was the official beginning of the post-timeskip era for me, whereas Zoro cutting the train isn’t even in his top 20.

3. Not a heavyweight matchup here, so as cool as Water 7 looks, Doffy on Jozu gets my vote.

4. The first tough one for me, but I really got a kick out of seeing the Straw Hats team up against Oars the first time I read it.

5. This was the toughest choice throughout all these posts...Asura was a transformative moment for Zoro in several ways, but every single person in the fandom has to admit that Kuma sending the protagonists flying into uncertain locations and circumstances was the most despondent moment in the series to that point.

6. Zorojuro and Sangoro teaming up to protect a child mourning her recently dead father was cool for several reasons, but much like the last one, Ace’s death meant real misery for our favorite rubber man and therefore means more to me.

7. After two tough choices came the easiest one so far, another instance of Wanze rightfully getting his ass handed to him. Next.

8. Stop me if I’ve said this before, but Enies Lobby is still my favorite arc in the series, so Luffy/Lucci takes this despite the opening notes of the game-changing battle in Marineford.

9. STOP GETTING IN THE WAY OF OUR TOURNAMENT OF GOOD PANELS, BAR LAUGHING AT THE FIRST THREE STRAW HATS

10. For me, Im’s very first appearance was an unbelievably hype moment after the long slog that was the second half of WCI, and I think the best is yet to come with badass Kai-dragon panels.

11. Very cool clash between Ace and Aokiji, but seeing all the pre-skip Shichibukai (RIP) together for the first time thrilled me more.

12. Surpass Me, Roronoa was the first real defining moment for Zoro, although I struggled with this one since Sanji standing up to Doflamingo is a pretty good move.

1.) Whitebeard vs Shanks easily. Fuck Big Meme. :kata:

3.) Water 7 due to nostalgia.
4.) Luffy getting wrecked is always nice, plus it was his first real defeat.
5.) Zoro beating Kaku was cool, but it just can't hold a candle to the SHs getting separated for two years.

8.) If this were Jet Gatling, I might vote for it, but the shot of the Whitebeard War starting at last still gives me chills.
9.) Luffy and Zoro trouncing the BW agents was funny, so that one I guess.
10.) Imu and the Straw Hat is a very big red flag for me, could be nothing, but Oda could also very easily fuck it up. Voting for Kaido since I was waiting for him to show off his powers ever since Thriller Bark.
11.) Ace vs Aokiji was an ok clash, but it can't beat the shot of the remaining Warlords at Marineford.
12.) Mihawk stomps. An epic ending to the part of the story when OP really started getting good imo.

I'm a sucker for flex moments done right. Sanji sending a challenge to the cp9 by purposefully sending Wanze flying towards them, putting them on notice, for them to turn around looking at Sanji multiple cars down, is hard af. Don't even care for the fight or the kicks themselves, the CP9 part makes that scene.

Sure Shanks giving Luffy the hat means more, but it doesn't really wow me (maybe I've seen it too often and since the art itself isn't all that special it's gotten boring to look at).

Best looking panel out of this bunch is Zoro cutting the train. One of the best action panels Oda has ever produced, just the angles and depth from that perspective, along with the use of motion lines depicting the quick drawing and sheathing style done to perfection.

The Asura panel in comparison is one of the ugliest looking and most nonsensical asspulls from Oda to date. Talk about a lack of creativity.

1) The original skysplitters
2) Zoro cuts the train. LuffyΒ΄s comeback was certainly satisfying but the composition of the Zoro panel was done much better. And with another expressive illustration of the trust between captain and his partner.
3) DD sits on Jozu, one of the most humiliating panels in the entire manga.
4) Definitely Oars vs Strawhats, Luffy not dying was obvious.
5) Strawhats destroyed, Asura is almost as bad of a powerup as HellΒ΄s Memories.

7) Obviously Shanks Β΄hat, ugh Wanze, most fitting name in the entire manga
8) Definitely the war panel, seemed like a nice preview of the battle to come with the main players shown.
9) Everyone laughing, which triggered one of the main messages of the entire manga.
10) Im and the Strawhat, pretty much a huge twist. Everyone and his mother knew Kaidou is a dragon, and his first intro was much more impressive, heck his silhouette and appearance in human form is much more impressive.
