I think Oda is way too old and has poor health, to be able to make One Piece as great as it used to be.
One Piece is way too vast and has way too many characters for Oda to handle. The quality sink is inevitable. Going for these "repeats" is a good way to at least have an idea of what to do every single week. Dude can't take a 2 years break and write a bunch of chapters, then release them like a book.
That's the problem with the weekly system from mangas.
You either die a Goda, or live long enough to become the BORINGoda.

I think it is fine. Oda has already done a fantastic work by creating the One Piece world. As long as he's sure of how he wants the story to unfold, "repeats" is fine. He may reuse the ideas from earlier arcs but each one has a tinge of different colors to it.

Take Alabasta and Dressrosa for example, the core idea is the same, usurpting the corrupted "King" and saving the country. But their executions are different. So it's not really a "repeat".

And even if it is considered so, it's not totally the same so it's fine in my book.

That's Post TS isn't that amazing
Oda is stuck in the past and keeps repeating same old formula, arcs with just different characters

I perosanlly love the structere of One Piece and, with how much Oda pays attention to chapter numbers, and with chapter 601 being a reference to chapter 1, I feel like the story will end on chapter 1200. We would have a two part story of 600 chapters each with the second part of the story being an amplified version of the first part. First 100 chapters were the prologue, and the last 100 chapters will probably be an epilogue (It would be cool if the final war is called the Epilogue War, similar to how Loguetown is the town of beginnings).

As for the parallels of wano and thriller bark, how about;
zoro taking Luffy's pain - Zoro saving Luffy from the execution by boiling like Oden saved the Akazaya Samurai
Straw Hats take down Big Mom together like they did with Oars and Moria
Zoro has a one on one with Kaido like with Kuma after the battle with Big Mom (Stalling for time until Luffy gets his haki back)
(All of these only work if we assume the rooftop battle isn't the finale of the arc)
...
I can't think of anything else
