Now that is an interesting point ! In a world where Carrot was portray with the strawhat for an entire arc fighting and playing with them, a full alliance member, why do you think that she is part of the very few people that got defeated in the story of Onigashima ?

Strenght ? Powerlevel ? I sence something deeper here.. like a good reason.. why would Carrot become Queen on a defeat ? Isn't that odd ?

I sence something strange here but just a feeling hehe..

1. Carrots inclusion in the WCI arc was to be fitting with the Wonderland theming of the arc. Literally the white rabbit that takes Alice to wonderland.
2. Her becoming queen was simply because she gained popularity and oda realized he needed to write a conclusion to her story however, since it was not an initial plan, it was rushed and awkward.

There’s nothing else to it. Carrots gone and May return in the final war but that’s all.

1. That oda wanted to at least make us feel like carrot was important in this arc beyond theming. However, once the straw hats all reunited Usopp returned to the role of lookout showing that there was no room on the actual crew for such a role.

2. Do I think odas used to retconning his story? Yeah he did it multiple times pre timeskip. One of the most impactful retcons was Law and Ace. Law wasn’t even initially planned and Aces connection to roger also wasn’t a thing until late pre timeskip
