This is all just gross assumption on my part ofc but since Japanese culture is so suppressive/restrictive and they often have to lash out in extreme ways to just feel alive or human, with extremely high suicide rates there and some of the most brutal work ethic/culture too, I suspect characters like Bakugo are a way for them to project their own desires to rebel, fight back, be aggressive/assertive and not take shit, to break the rules and be independent, free, to have a lot of self respect (even though Bakugo was massively jealous of Deku and admitted it a while ago too in the story, after the last war before this one) and so on.

It's also why Shonens have such extreme powerscaling/power creep/escalation imo. Why Isekais are so popular, as well as Harems and my brain just forgot the other one lmao.
I think the Japanese value escapism due to their own brutal work life and culture, working up to 21 hours a day, having to sleep on the way to and from work, sleeping in pods or the tiniest, most slimmest apartments, being expected to go for drinks with work colleagues after work, always be humble and not talking back, criticising, being in anyway disrespectful to their elders and ancestors and such.

I'm obviously going by random assumptions and stereotypes, stuff I've seen and heard about there without any deep research nor first hand experience or anything like that, but it would make sense, right?

Idk why Kidd isn't a MUCH more popular character then, punk and metal are popular in Japan too, as well as rebellious, aggressive, anarchistic/chaotic, bold/daring, edgy characters lol.

I'm not expert though ofc anyway, this is just all my assumptions.
