1096: Man and God
-Ivankov defends Kuma, but he's then attacked. Ivankov is about to get shot, so Kuma tosses a slave at a Government Agent. Kuma defeats everyone else. Ivankov and Ginny share their brief backstories. Ivankov's father was killed for insulting Celestial Dragons in his comedy routines, Ginny's mother was clumsy, and was murdered when she tripped and fell in front of a Celestial Dragon. Her father was killed after.
-Kuma shares the story of Nika with them, and they begin dancing. Ivankov calls Kuma his friend, and Kuma cries, saying he's never had a friend before.
-Saturn and Garling talk about the Devil Fruits that serve as prizes. They're all powerful and rare, and will be divided by who has the most points. First place gets to pick whichever Fruit, then second place gets to pick, and so on. Saturn believes Garling would be suited for Kaido's Fruit, however, Garling doesn't want to be an anchor, and plans to save the Fruit he picks for his son in the future, so that he can become the most powerful Celestial Dragon outside of the Gorosei.
-The Fruits as rewards are Kaido's, Whitebeard's, Kuma's, Invankov's, Dragon's, and a surprise Fruit that will only be revealed at the end of the tournament.
-A Government Agent reports that another slave broke loose, and some believe him to be a famous pirate. The Marine shows a Bounty Poster (we do not see the poster, just its back). Saturn scowls, but Garling smiles, and says, "Oh, there is something worth hunting on this island, after all."
-Garp is on a Den Den Mushi. "DAMN IT, YOU IDIOT SON! Stay away from that island, there's nothing you can do to stop them! You'll only get yourself and your men killed!" Garp has a flashback to his interview with the Gorosei to become Fleet Admiral. Garp was told he would have to tolerate certain evils, such as the human hunts. Garp was disgusted, and tried to resist, but witnessed the Elder's true forms. Saturn: "We know how much value you bring to the Marines, Garp. If you turn down this promotion, we will allow you to continue to serve under us as Vice Admiral. But, if you rebel, nothing but death awaits you, your family, and the Goa Kingdom."
-A Marine interrupts with another Den Den Mushi, and Garp throws a steak at his face in irritation. "WHAT COULD BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN MY SON TRYING TO PICK A FIGHT WITH CELESTIAL DRAGONS?"
-The Marine sputters, "Sir... it's Gol D. Roger! He wanted to tell you personally... that he's on his way to God Valley!" Garp slams the receiver down on Dragon, and grabs the other Den Den Mushi. Before he can speak, Roger states, "Garp... it's Rocks. I heard from someone on his crew... Rocks is planning to target God Valley. He wants to wipe out every Celestial Dragon there." Garp crushes the Den Den Mushi without speaking, then stands up, and Geppos through the wall of the ship and off into the distance.
-We cut to Kuma, Ivankov, and Ginny being kicked and whipped by WG Agents. Suddenly, the people attacking them all sink into darkness while screaming. A man covered in darkness walks towards the trio, his hair and smile both wild and untamable.
-"A bunch of weak runaway slaves, heh? HAHAHAHA, look at how bad they beat you! Hey, you're alive, though, right? But, what's running going to do? They'll just find you and kill you, hahahahaha!" he belts out as they cower.
-Text Box: Most Dangerous Man in the World, Wanted for the Murder of a Celestial Dragon: Rocks D. Xebec."
-Rocks throws the group some food, then goes, "Don't worry, I'm nothing like them. Celestial Dragon blood runs through my veins... but only because my mother was a human slave they used as they pleased. I don't even know who my father was, hahahaha! So, I decided... screw running, I'll kill them all! EVERYONE LAST ONE OF THOSE FALSE GODS!"
-Rocks continues while looking at Kuma, "Hey, kid! Unlike that bigheaded weirdo (Iva begins kicking Rocks, who doesn't care), and that scrawny girl, you're special huh? You have Buccaneer blood, right? HAHAHA! So, do you know about the Sun God, Nika?!? Ah, who cares! You kids have guts, fighting back against these scum."
-Kuma's eyes grow wide as Rocks' smile becomes kinder, and he offers his hand out to the group. "I know! I'm a pirate; the name's Rocks! Why don't you join my crew, and we'll destroy the Celestial Dragons together?!? HAHAHAHAHA!"
