There's actual hints and foreskinning for Kizaru betrayal. And there's a very plausible major event that could stem stem from it.

The Marines and WG have been coming to a head ever since Post time skip.

Akainu has openly expressed his disdain in being the lap dog of the WG. But he has been professional and tried to bring the Admirals and Marines under order.

Aokiji left the Marines to work for a yonko.
Fujitora has been actively working against the WG.
Sword has been increasing in number and just pulled off an attack on a Yonkos territory.


Basically. The Marines are in disarray. Akainu is torn between being a pencil pusher trying to do his job, and being out there actively taking action to eradicate the world of filthy pirates.
The thing binding Akainu to his desk is the status, the position, the leadership role that he got in the World Govt. Without such shackles, he'd be way more effective.

That brings us to Kizaru. Who's seen as basically the right hand man of Akainu.

On top of all the problems within the Marines, if Kizaru were to actively act out against a Gorosei, and in turn the whole World Govt, the dices that have been set up for long will finally fall at once. Kizaru betraying saturn will be the straw that breaks Akainu's desk.

Marines will effectively leave the WG and be their own organization free from the corrupt hands of the WG.

Akainu will be forced into it. Then lead the Marines in a full assault on all the pirate scum in the world. With Kizaru and Fujitora at his side. The Marines will finally be proactive in their quest for a peaceful world free of Pirate scum.


They may not be completely successful. But they will be way more effective than their current situation.


Oda has already explained through the Revs that the real evil is the WG. Revs, the ones looking to topple the monarchy of the entire world, says that their target is the WG, and only the WG. Not the Marines.

So I see no reason the Marines should still be aligned with the WG in the final war.

Oda has also said that there will be a massive free for all war coming.

I believe it will be the result of the independent Marine campaign against all the pirates in the world. It will coincide with the Yonko battles to be the first ones to laughtale. Maybe the war will even be AT Laughtale.

Anyway, after the huge war, the strawhats and their allies, now grown to an armada capable of challenging the World govt itself, will come out on top, and thus they will launch their final assault on Mariejoa in the last war of One piece.


So yes. Kizaru betraying saturn is happening, as oda has hinted throughout the arc.

And it's ramifications will be "The big incident of egg head" That oda promised.

which will be the Marines seceding from the World Govt completely and becoming an independent faction that will work against both the WG and also the Yonko and other pirates.

Togashi's health issues doesn't affect the fact that he actually would kill off major characters. Succession war/ Boat arc is literally supposed to be the end for many of the major characters. we know this. Him not being able to sit upright to finish the damn arc doesn't change that.

Reinhard wasn't intelligent like his archnemesis Yang, or even his own subordinate Oberstein.

Sure he was ambitious and had a bit of charisma, but his best friend Kircheis put him on that position through his connections and Oberstein handled the diplomatic side of his empire.

Reinhard lost every major battle to Wen-li and was only able to conquer the alliance because of, well, what you said. Yang wasn't ambitious and had morals which he didn't betray.
