I totally agree with you three, The entertainment industry would advance to much better levels if it weren't so dependent on DC and Marvel.
Here is a example. Marvel just announced that Planet of the Apes franchise will return to its comics. (Here.)
This is the first time that Marvel caught my interest. Planet of the Apes is the last thing i became a big fan of,after watch the 2011's reboot.
These industries should take this idea forward. They should start bringing into the comic book industries other franchises that have the potential to be as big in the comic book format as Batman and Spider Man. One that i think fits the bill is Pirates of the Caribbean.
