It's beside the point. Nothing happened that would justify Sanji not initially tagging along with them except if Oda wanted to keep him from meeting Gaban. (not impossible though)

It wouldn't be the same because Nami is there, Sanji doesn't like Road at all, then you have Gaban talking about being the preacher of love, then Luffy saying he resembles Sanji, then Gaban saying he impregnated Ripley.. Sanji would have a lot to say about all of this.

Then Gaban proceeds to attack Luffy and Zoro.. including Sanji there would make Oda need to handle a lot of stuff to keep things consistent. Think about Luffy and Sanji against Kizaru and some of the Gorosei... Then place Zoro there with them, it makes Oda need to do something worthy with him if Sanji and Luffy are busy with other stuff, so Lucci was the excuse to keep Zoro busy in the meantime.

Depend who they fight tbh. Don't expect them to be bonafide top tiers based on their intro but they might be above YC if they face Zoro/Sanji

I don't see Beckman, King, Katakuri, Zoro losing to them tbh, but I may be proven wrong we will see.

It's a bit different tho. Vice-admirals been portrayed as fodders since Dressrosa (Some would say Punk Hazard but they were will still portrayed as threat in spit of Smoker jobbing streak), some readers were just on copium about Oda handling them better but he stayed consistent with their post-ts portrayal instead.

HKs didn't job yet.
