Nothing. It's within the definition. Never denied this. however apparently you are avoiding what the word apprentices means. It means to be in servitude to the one providing knowledge to you when it pertains to a particular craft.

Unlike am apprentice a protégé is NOT forced to abide by what his mentor is saying. That's the difference between having a master (an apprentice) and a mentor (protoge)
Being an apprentice is a job that's the thing, garp got superior too:endthis:

ConquistadoR

The Rogue Prince
Mihawk wasn't even given privikege to flex on buster call fleet as Hancock, Weevil and Croco did lol
Loool Hancock only did so to drive the narrative when BB captured her.
Crocodile did so to save Buggy.
Weevil did to save Sphinx Island.

They were all One Panel scenes which Oda drew because they were important to the narrative.
You don't need to draw that for Mihawk going out of Kuraigana lmao.

I'm asking if he doesn't have CoC , he will still be top 5 right?
He has it & you know it, you're just in denial atm.
This is just like your Zoro doesn't have CoC argument.

Three OG Top Tiers introduced in East Blue = Shanks (Ch. 0001), Mihawk (Ch. 0050), Dragon (Ch. 0100)
All 3 are CoC users.

1. You are correct which is why koby is not forced or bounded in having to follow garp since all garp is giving him is his guidance protection by his own choice etc. Something outside the confines of obligated work. While what garp offered kuzan in the past was something in the actual lines of work hence why kuzan had to serve garp in the capacity of the job.

2. You are incorrect. Garp has no one current in the marines thats his masters or mentor. He is neither an apprentice nor a protoge of anyone currently in the marines.

More excuses
Oda made Weevil, Hancock and Croco flex on them
He made Mihawj run away like a fraud while complaining about them being a problem

Your arguments are really something else

Mihawk should first show he's fit to be a conqueror
A coward who is afraid to lead a crew in NW isn't fit
If he gets CoC then it's just fanservice.

If a coward like Mihawk gets CoC, then Admirals should have it

So that's literally what I said:
-Coby: spoon fed
-Aokiji: actual marine officer who works under garp:endthis:
