The reason is very simple: Oda offscreening Pluton would be horrible after how much time was spent on Pluton as a plot point.
How many arcs did we have centered around this damn Ancient Weapon?
Crocodile invaded Alabasta for Pluton.
Lucci and CP9 went after Robin and Franky for Pluton. Tom DIED for it (unless he's alive because Oda Odas). Iceberg almost died for it.
Wano ended with the reveal that Pluton is in the country, when Kaido wanted to claim the Ancient Weapons with Big Mom.
Egghead is all about the Ancient History, Ancient Technology, and the misuse of science for evil, the entire plot point Pluton was centered around (that it's too dangerous to exist in the world).
Franky and Robin both had their entire lives destroyed over Pluton and the Ancient History. Crocodile and CP9 were focused on Pluton, and when were they reintroduced as serious elements to the plot? Post Wano, when Pluton was revealed to be in Wano.
And then you have Caribou, who knows about Pluton, and wants to tell someone about it, who's been missing for multiple volumes.
If Oda offscreens Pluton and doesn't have the Straw Hats in Wano when it's activated, then he wasted years setting up hype for Pluton and connecting it to the Straw Hats via Franky and Robin.
