He's goody two shoes. Not a very interesting character. On the one hand he fights against piracy and shit but close an eye ( no pun intended ) on the slavery and etc... happening in Mariejois.

Ryokugyu is at least straightforward.

Oh yeah, the initial vibe caught many fans off guard imo, even though we had the Kira tease from the very beginning.

The last arc of this part is where things become even more bizarre, so you can look forward to that

Yeah it was a great part because of that. Quite original compared to other ones. And with great stands.
