think creators should have a new law for their character ip protection, no one allowed to modify their character description or design etc as unfaithful adaption to avoid this issue. As it also pisses of the fans.
this why watch anime, since they never mess around with their character designs. and always keep it faithful.
The thing is some creators - usually Western ones in my experience - actually allow or even support inaccurate casting like this even if it messes with canon.
Take Rick Riordan. People hated the PJO movies in the 2010s because the characters were aged up and inaccurate to the source material.
Hell they had Annabeth's actress dye her hair blonde in the second movie because people were peeved that she was a brunette in the first.
Riordan, who wrote the books and authorized the official website art of the characters, was pissed at it too and said he'd be directly involved in the next adaptation to avoid issues like this.
So in 2020, we get the castings for the new PJO show, and like, outside of the actor's ages....none of them looked right. Even Percy got the wrong hair colour ffs.
People were obviously annoyed, mainly because of the casting of Annabeth who was very clearly described in the books and who was supposed to be of Scandinavian ancestry.
And ofc Rick responded with a blog post about everyone is racist and what not.
Another case is Invincible. I only read the comic and was very surprised at how the show changed Amber's appearance and then gave her a way more controversial personality.
Same thing happened with Lockwood & Co. I'm also pretty sure there was a similar incident with Neil Gaiman's Sandman too.
Nothing like the Addams Family movies and tv series I grew up loving and being heavily inspired by and finding rare comfort in.
Nobody will beat the OG Gomez, Morticia, Fester etc too. Jenna is overrated as Wednesday too, Christina Ricci was better and she cameo'd in this series only to get unceremoniously killed off after being framed as the villain ffs.
Nah I didn't see that show, only the delightful animated series around the same time as the awesome movies. There's 2 live action movies and they're both great.
Tbh I watched both animated films too and expected to hate them, especially the 2nd one but ironically I really enjoyed them.
Nothing will ever beat the OG animated series and live action films but that hod awful, lethally cringe, pretentious new Wednesday series makes these new animated films look like Shakespeares best works and Renaissance art!
Also the animated films had Snoop Dogg as cousin IT which was hilarious as fuck lol:
Animator starting war on Twitter every week mfers acting like they wrote one piece just adapt the manga the way Oda wrote it Fkin clowns stop adding your own opinion
