It's not about the series itself, it's about on how they saw he was so popular, they made a whole series with him being the MC.

You're ignoring Wolverine wasn't created as an X-men member, he was created to be a Hulk's villain, then he got incorporated to X-men. Do you know Wolverine was one of the most mysterious characters in Marvel during 90s and that what made fans gettig interested on him? Lol

Imo, Wolverine made part of X-Men, Avengers, F4 and Midnight Suns.

Hold up pal, Deadpool's popularity doesn't top Wolverine's, the only Deadpool movie which broken 1b box office was exacly "Deadpool and Wolverine" lmao, and Deadpool's game ain't even popular, it floped so hard lol
I’m talking the character as a whole. Deadpool has become one of the most common character cosplays at conventions throughout USA at least from what I’ve seen.

Maybe it’s different around you. But where I’m around Wolverines popularity has more or less fallen out in exchange for other names. Like at his peak, yeah Wolverine was a top 10-5 popularity. But he’s just not there anymore imo.

And this is coming from a Fantastic 4 fan who had to watch one of his favorite teams fall into borderline obscurity outside of actual comics for the past decades.

sometimes i think about this character and his backstory and have to accept this might be the first ever imu type villian oda cooked up. like back in 2002 oda was already like, this is my big bad...even his personality is...well just take a read ya know

> Simon's ambition was to become the king of the world. He saw the world as a place where the strong ate the weak and grew even stronger, while kings and the government would not protect the weak. He claimed the reason for this was because humans try to control other humans, but that he alone was different. He believed that if he controlled the world as the king, everyone would be able to live in peace. This also included the idea of equality between races, and his crew indeed consisted of both humans and fish-men. However, his idea of peace seemed centered around the idea that everyone would be equal as long as they praise and obey him.

> In truth, Simon simply saw both humans and fish-men equally beneath himself. Despite claiming he would make everyone happy if he ruled the world, he did not care about people struggling due to his crew's actions, as he was willing to blackmail the Straw Hat Pirates using Nefertari Vivi as a hostage. He also betrayed his promise to free her without a second thought, claiming that someone like him would not make promises with mere humans. When he was cornered, Simon was shocked and confused as to why anyone would defy a chosen one like him.
