Though I don't think expectations have much to do with his lack of popularity. People gas up Blackbeard 24/7 but he's only 50th in the polls

Mihawk has done less than nothing and he's 31st, though that's probably from Zoro fans

True expectations don't translate to popularity, i brought that up because what we seen so just doesn't move people. So i doubt when he gets the "spotlight" (mind you, in god valley dragon had way more prominent role + lines than Blackbeard, and an exploration of his relationship with garp, which is funny given the context of xebec and GV himself for BB) this will not change imo. How oda is handling him so far doesnt signal to me he is cooking something special for him that will blow our socks off. Screams "average" to me.
Glad to be proven wrong tho, i like reading more good characters and great moments
