That's a good point. But I still believe narratively that Xebec may be a "good guy" that was forced to be evil by the injustices that happened to him. First one being falsely accused of murdering an Admiral. And that would justify he wanting to take out the world from World Governament.

This is too easy though, any unseen death can be credited to Imu but when the manga says something we have no choice but to go by what it says until something else comes up

Disagree since we can think and question things. And is not like it would be the first time something told in the manga was a proved to be a lie afterwards.
