Idk man I'm reading Bleach right now (currently on Soul Society) and while I think it's alright so far, I wouldn't put the fights on the same level as JJK
So many fights right now (especially Ichigo's) seem to go along the lines of:
- Character is losing against the antagonist
- Flashback
- Character gets super determined and/or remembers some technique they learned in training
- This makes the character stronger
- They beat the antagonist
Compare this to something like Yuji/Todo vs Mahito. We see the heroes and the villains both coming up with strategies on the fly to get the edge over each other. We get to see both of them learning from past fights and incorporating what they saw into their own techniques. Case in point is Mahito doing a domain expansion of 0.2 seconds which he learned from his fight against Gojo
Now granted I do think there are a couple things that Bleach does better than JJK. I think Bleach (at least right now) has a more developed cast of characters than JJK did. In JJK, I never cared much about Megumi or Nobara. But in Bleach, I think all the MCs (Ichigo, Rukia, Orihime, Uryu, and Chad) are all pretty interesting and likable. I
will say that I like Yuji more than Ichigo, I think that's moreso because I subjectively find him more relatable and I'd say that they're both well developed.
But if we're just talking about fights, then I'm still gonna give it to JJK over Bleach.
