Depends on the timing like if BB is defeated and asks Kuzan for help yeah I could see him turning his back on him. Aokiji had a great oppurtunity on Hachinosu cause him and Garp could have beaten the whole island.

This was actually supposed to be a recurring theme, where Sanji would get cracks during more of his battle and he would loose his leg at one point. But Oda decide to scrap that idea.
