It said the medicine is temporary, as for specific timeframes I don't believe so, hence "imo" rather than stating it as outright fact.

The medicine being temporary probably indicates that the effect will be over once Oda will feel it necessary therefore I bet if Zoro has to contribute against Kaido Oda will fundamentally allow him so.

But then the question remains, what happens to Onigashima when Momo reaches his limits? Does he move Onigashima back out to sea? Or does he set it down, which will still cause massive casualties?

If he just lands onigashima slow and steady i dont think there will be an explosion. Only think the explosion will happen if onigashima crashes from that height it's at now.

Who cares whether it crashes or not when Black Maria set it on fire, Orochi set it on fire and now King is about to go all out with his fire abilities. How long before all of that interacts with the weapons and the gunpowder?

I personally think that Momo will experience the same scene Shirahoshi had in Fishman island...

Where his desire to protect the capital will end up awakening his powers regarding the animals like Zunisha for example....

So basically I think Momo WILL make the island stops, BUT not through his flame clouds, as I think it will fail....I think his desperate feeling will be transmitted to animals as big as Zunisha and sea kings to appear and stop Onigashima from falling
