General & Others "Open Up Wano"

Anyone else still doesn't really care about the whole "Open up Wano" stuff that Oden and the Scabbards obsess with?

We were never told why Wano was closed up, we were never told why Oden wants to open it up outside of very vague shit that Oda probably won't reveal untill Raftel

So why should we even care about Wano "needing to be opened up" when we are barely even told why Oden wants it to be opened up

Worst part is that the Scabbards themselves probably don't know why Wano should be opened up , and probably wouldn't want it opened up if Oden didn't tell them to as most of them seem pretty Conservative despite following Oden for such a long time

Am I missing something? Did Oda mess up?

The scabbards are only doing it based on it being Oden´s dream. If that´s weak for you, fair enough. Usually, the guys inheriting a dream had a clear grasp on the dream itself and what it entails, but then again, Luffy inheriting the will of Ancient Kingdom is along the same breath since Luffy has no idea what he is doing and what he will do.

It was closed up to protect itself from the World Government, the time for the chosen people has come, who (WB´s words) will challenge the world, hence Wa No needs to be opened up now and work with those people.

This occurred with Naruto too for example. Like we understood more and more about its World's dynamics the more the story spiced up.

Japan was once closed off to outsiders in order to remove the colonial and religious influences, of course there where more hidden motives as to keep the ones in power, well, in power, but you get the idea. Its just Oda using real world paralens into his stories again.

Its no secret that in the OP world the WG wants to desperaly hide stuff, and that some polneglyphs already fullfiled their roles, like it was the case with the skypea one, soo theres no telling why they closed it off in the first place. Oden dosent think the country needs to remain closed off, while opening it up would fuck up Orochi's plans to keep secretly selling weapons to the WG.
