Questions & Mysteries Opposing ideals and personalities amongst the main players

#1

Not power levels always, but more like ideals and personalities clash:

Upper Middle matchups: Teach and Luffy

Opposing ideals for the pirates, how they see things:

Personalities are opposite:

Upper Left and right matchups: Buggy and Shanks

Another opposing ideals for the pirates being selfless and selfish, opposing characters.

Lower middle matchups: Koby and Imu

Opposing ideals for Government, Koby is probably the most selfless and honest government officer while Imu represents the most corrupt and selfish side of the government.

Lower left and right: Sabo and Akainu

Sabo as revolutionary does not discriminate meanwhile Akainu kills innocent people and kills people for their bloodline:

Also kills a Marine who was begging for his family:

Akainu's one of the most heinous acts was bombarding a ship full of innocent people and children:

And Sabo when he was a child was also a victim of a similar heinous act:

Lower middle left right: Aokiji and Dragon

Former Marines who tried to change the system from inside, and they failed, and they left, and they were both trained by Garp. But they choose different paths after leaving.

Who both search for freedom, as Oda said in SBS Aokiji joined BB pirates for living freely and Dragon also couldn't find any freedom and justice in Marines as well so he established something different after leaving them. Interesting that if its coincidence.

The only thing we don't know about Garling and Shamrock, perhaps Oda will also make something out of this.

Personalities are opposite:

The point of the scene isn't that they're opposites, it's that they're similar. Having a different preference or opinion then someone is not an example of being the opposite for that person. The fact that Luffy and Blackbeard saw a disagreement over food preferences as a reason to fight is proof that they're similar

The "opposite" of Luffy would be Bellamy, who is so different from Luffy in his worldview that he doesn't even see him as someone worth fighting.

Bellamy literally does not believe finding the One Piece is possible, and therefore sees it as a worthless goal. This is the true antithesis of Luffy, who doesn't even care if the One Piece is real, he just wants to do the journey.

Yeah in literary terms BB is Luffy's foil. They share many similarities but diverge in one critical way, that being BB would kill his own nakama when Luffy wouldn't.

I kind of an issue with sabo and Akainu

reason being the word “discrimination” being used, Akainu doesn’t actually discriminate against anyone unless it’s pirates.

Sabo and Saturn would be more match
Exactly... as I said , Forced Parallel.

If it's erkan Post. His hidden agenda is probably Counting out Imu and Akainu , for BB to be final villain lol.

Akainu literally told Fujitora he wanted to keep Warlord Pirates since they work for government. I also showed the panel above Akainu will let other pirates go if he can take out ''Dragon son and Roger son''.

Akainu discriminates people based on their bloodlines and based on if they are working for government or not. He was also going to kill Koby for Koby trying to save Marines, he says Government doesn't need Koby and those Marines.

Sabo saying he "doesn't discriminate" just meant that he wasn't going easy on Fujitora for being blind.
I don't think it's comparable to Akainu.
If it's comparable to someone, then it's Luffy.
Luffy "discriminated" Fujitora because he wasn't willing to punch Fujitora without warning him beforehand.
So Luffy and Sabo have opposing ideals in this case.
Sabo was just smart enough to know thats not a disadvantage for Fujitora, Sabo knew Fujitora was holding back and asked to not hold back.

Luffy also treated Momo more seriously.

Luffys ideal: "idc about the suffering of the world unless I happen to stumble upon an old guy or girl that is affected by it"
I doubt he doesn't care he simply think about his own friends safety first not other people that he doesn't know.
