So when Kaido escapes. There will just be a Yonko just chilling in the world.
Is there any reason why he wouldn't just re-attack Luffy? Or reclaim Wano?

I think he has to die, but i think he will not get killed by any strawhat. he will be executed either the same way he killed Oden , he might even ask for that himself or maybe Law take his heart out when he is already defeated and unconscious or even cuffed. killing him by stabling his heart is easiest way.

Kaido will realize the error of his ways after his loss, be locked up in marineford for a bit then breakout and play a crocodile-esque role in the final war, where he will begrudgingly save luffy’s life. He will then live out the rest of his life in repentance to the people of wano by working as a janitor without pay in the flower capital.
