Controversial Physiognomy Discussion

Do you think Facial Attractiveness is generally linked to better Morality/Character ?

Positively no.
Being attractive does not make you a better person. Often its the opposite as you never have to learn how to behave appropriately when the opposite sex gives you plenty of attention either way.
Being ugly has a similar effect, ironically. Ugly people get so little attention from the opposite sex that they do not feel like it is worth it to improve or build their character.

In my life I have found that people still tend to treat attractive people better.
Bad behavior is more easily excused and in general more trust is put into them.

No, but i believe societal morality amd norms influence that.

You can even link it to racism and racial supermacy to an extent between races exclusively

As for interracial cases the same applies but instead of races its features, wealth, and status.

Basically, people often judge a book by its cover and assume stereotypes and value you less.

Honestly you could even argue that good looking people are more manipulative and get away with lot of the shit they do too.

People are able to assume alot by someome's attractiveness is due to the perpetuated treatments of less attractive and more attractive folks.

Humans tend to follow their instincts, observing both pleasure and pain, beauty and happiness, without directional agent it leads to chaos, a fascinating quesiton would be that why do some people instinctively believe that treating different and less gifted folk inhumanely is bad, its coz empathy is also a human instinct. Its like the ability of chaos and peace are both instincts to humanity. I also think that people who often judge other's looks have a hard time showing affection that isn't just sex, money or some socially construed idea of success.

Yes, I wonder how much of racism is just lookism in disguise.

Notice how racists always bring up the looks first , especially features that become an ethnic marker and how attractive their women are..

And then they connect the looks with their supposedly bad behaviors

It's what you call halo-effects.

One thing lead to another.

Being attractive - get compliments- self esteem boost- more confidence- able to do great things- more invested in society because people value you

Likewise

Being ugly- get bad/ invisible treatment- low self-esteem - develop insecurities- lack of motivation to do things- less invested in society because people don't value you

. I also think that people who often judge other's looks have a hard time showing affection that isn't just sex, money or some socially construed idea of success.
Not necessarily.

What do you mean by affection beyond those things?

No. Innate appearance in itself says nothing about a person. Another thing is acquired features — gaze and facial expressions, gait, gestures, even the timbre of the voice. And it does not always give a guarantee. But someone who, for example, works in places of detention, can easily distinguish a former prisoner from a law-abiding citizen.

Knowing how to recognize a person's gait from a distance was really useful when I was In the military

Helped me to find people in a crowd, or tell if someone I knew was coming towards me

Especially when I was in Europe for about half a year and some friends of mine got separated in town

It was useful to finally spot them

If I were your friend, you would recognize me in any crowd: no one else has such scoliosis

Ig i just generalised the latter part, lets just say people who over obsess over looks would have a shallow outlook on affection, like someone who neglects consideration for the less fortunate would have a defective look of it generally. If I'm not stretching this ojt too much, atleast some sort of defective outlook on what consideration and affection should be.

I'm not saying they can't love or even express it, but rather it's shallow, and since they're more prone to judge based on looks they ought to be more materialistic as well...being less able to reciprocate.

This is for those who over obsess with looks

When the pics come out and first thing everyone did was making fun of his looks /s

Ohh he was bullied in school too for his looks making him an outcast,

Eventually making the halo effects leading to assassination

If people were shown his photo and told that he saved 100 people during a fire, the comments would be like, "Omg, he's so kind, you can see it even on his face!"

hypotheticals :willight:
The dude got bullied hard at school for his looks, he was outcast.

He even wore mask after COVID because he was insecure about his looks

He was probably yearning for validation and attention,

Hence this assassination attempt was to get all that.

It's the Halo effect theory

Hence you see posts like ( he exactly looks like someone who would do it)
