Somebody check what ViZ says
@EtenBoby acm you tell me what the original text says when Luffy talks about Zoro dream.

Mihawk and Luffy, both viewed WSS as a dream and title way beneath PK title/dream.
Mihawk saying that being PK path is way harder than WSS.
and Luffy saying that it's a shame for a PK right hand if Zoro doesnt at least accomplish something small as WSS.

I don't remember Luffy viewing Coby's Admiral dream way less than PK as he did with WSS.

Throughout the manga, Oda has clearly shown that being Great Pirate and Admiral is greater than being WSS , and being PK>Great Pirate(Yonko)/FA>=Admiral.

Shanks and Luffy promise is : return the hat when ypu become a great pirate.
That's the greatest accomplishment of every pirate beside PK title.

But hey, they want WSS fame/title/dream = PK or Great Pirate

It's sure that being the WSS isn't a dream or position as ambitious or famous than being the Pirate King not only because Gold Roger the first PK is considered to be the strongest pirate of all time alongside Whitebeard (who could have become PK if he wanted to but wasn't interested) but also because of the message that the PK carries, of the way one becomes a PK (reaching Raftel and making a world tour and learning about the void century).

The Viz translation of volume one is dreadful. The idea that Luffy would denigrate someone's dream is an absolutely appalling reading of the character.
Here's what the current translator of it had:

Luffy: Nice, the world's greatest swordsman!!
A true Pirate King
wouldn't settle for anything less!!!

And yes, becoming Pirate King is harder than being WSS, because it's taking on near enough the entire world, not just trying to surpass one very strong man.

This ain't about dreams but strenght.

Mihawk isn't Roger level going by Whitebeard's WSM title, however nothing implies he isn't close that.

All we know is Zoro and Luffy have been portrayed as equals/near equals since the very start of the manga and nothing changed since then, except in headcanonical forms.

It's obvious since day 1 that PK>WSS, why create a thread for it???
