My assumption is that he erred in his claim. Forgot that claiming Jail on ginger would clash with what ginger received from me, and then decided that either 1) it would look too scummy if he "conveniently" took the 'easy' out offered by Flower, or 2) decided it would be better to try and play himself as town who was redirected/blocked etc, especially if one of his scummates actually has that role and targets somebody else with it for 'proof' that it could've happened.

It would not be the first time I've seen scum make a very basic mistake like that. See also, "being human".

Shui/BTAM was targetted by Jan, whose ability relied on that player taking an action that night. Which BTAM has already said that Shui did not target anybody with actions on N1, meaning Jan's ability use was a waste.

These two things are not equal.
