Why did Oda not put Sanji on top of the dome

Same reason he’s not part of the worst generation.

Sanji is not supposed to be viewed in the same light as Zoro and Luffy who’re leaders of this group.

Sanji during baratie was even told to follow in these two footsteps similar to Coby

Oda has done this consistently throughout OP.

1.) Luffy and Zoro - being the first to get bounties
2.) Luffy and Zoro - being trained by top tiers
3.) Luffy and Zoro - being the first to use haki pre-ts
4.) Luffy and Zoro - Vs. Aqua Laguana even Luffy stating that their attack has similar potency but the number is hard to say.
5.) Luffy and Zoro - getting further CoA training in Wano
6.) Luffy and Zoro - being the only two capable of harming Kaido (no one else on the roof caused harm to him)

I'll be here all day, but if people take off their bias glasses this is very much in your face throughout One piece

I could troll Sanji but I wanna give a serious answer. Yes Sanji is too weak and will have no leading part in the new generation. Everyone on the roof will not only be famous around the world they will also be the top or the leaders of the new era , Luffy the PK, Zoro the first mate of the PK and WSS, Kid the rival of the PK and Killer his first mate, Law also one of the rivals of the PK. The fight against Kaido is the biggest step for them and symbol that they will rule the new generation. Marco could strength wise also be on the roof but that’s not his role. Sanji has a different role in the story and he doesn’t need to be strong as Luffy, Zoro etc and he will never play in the same league as them. He will play an important role under the roof and will probably protect Momo.

Because Sanji got other things to do.
Not EVERYONE can be on the roof fighting Kaido and Big Mom.
Sanji needed the Black Maria plot (obviously, for the gag) and it lead up to the Robin vs BM fight.
Now Sanji is heading obviously to Yamato and Momo and will help them in some way or form.
There is no point in Sanji being on the roof and it has nothing to do with strenghth, as some people want to make 'rooftop' a new powerlevel term.
What sense would it make if every single alliance member fought the Yonko? The beast pirates subordinates need to be taken care of too, guys.

The poll options are not well thought out imo.

I don't think he's on the roof just he's not the worst generation.

It doesn't mean Sanji is weak far from it Sanji has a very good chance of being as strong or even stronger than a Kizaru. Besides, it's not a supernova that's all.

I even go further for me in the crew of the Strawhats there are several people who could be captains or and who can compete with other supernovas Sanji Jinbei I mostly think that Oda didn't put Sanji in the supernovas to make the other supernova crews look ridiculous, but in reality Luffy's crew is internally much more powerful than the others.

Why the actual fuck would Sanji ever be on the roof? He has no beef with Kaido nor has there been any foreshadowing that the two would fight.

Kid and Killer were imprisoned and victimised by Kaido

Law and Luffy have been in an alliance to defeat Kaido since Punk Hazard

Zoro inherited Oden’s sword whose main selling point was scarring Kaido. He has also had a Tiger vs Dragon motif throughout the series, starting with his fight against Mihawk.

Of what relevance is Sanji to the supernova or Oden plot line? He has none, the only individual who cares about him is Queen and not even, fat Barney is jacking off to Judge, not his prodigal son.

  • He's not a part of the Worst Generation...
  • His overall power is not yet (maybe only close) at the level of the 5 above...
  • He's setup to be Jinbe's "equal", maybe alongside Yamato to battle the YC1-4 below... If everyone is in the rooftop, the forces below would lack powerhouses...
  • Sanji will definitely join the battle at the final stage of that battle alongside the entire crew...
  • Germa might arrive and they should see him using RS for more tension...

He's not a member of the Supernova's/worst generation/new generation.
He's simply too weak to do anything to kaido, he's got nothing to offer in the fight. What's he gonna do up there cook for them? there's no breaks in-between to replenish yourself.
He himself never expressed any desires to fight kaido, only to help Luffy get to the roof, his "job" was to deal with the fodders below the roof which he has poorly done so, getting captured and having to asked to be safe. That's not rooftop material right there. Kaido would do to him what he did to Luffy when they first fight, a one shot. We don't want any more casualties.

The battle on the roof is more thematically driven than anything else. The leading figures of the new generation vs the last bastions of the old.

Practicality wise, Sanji is better suited on the lower floors, where his resourcefulness can come in handy during the chaos. Not so much in a straightforward fight which is what’s demanded on the roof.

The only way Sanji gets involved in the Yonko fight is if all the Strawhats do, and the final battle of Wano involves the crew vs the Yonko. He won’t be making some dramatic solo entrance against the Yonko. He hasn’t earned that level narrative agency this arc.
