I have been extensively disappointed by the messed portrayal depicting him as a man incapable of dealing with 2 sulong dukes to the point they would highly made him bite the dust. Not that the dukes are "quite weak characters" per se of course.

To be fair. The dukes and scabbards power scaling is a complete mess.
Neko and Inu on base are already powerhouses.
They becoming Sulong and still performing just the same against Kaido as the rest of the scabbards is complete BS.

Well this is your personal taste nevertheless.

If we wanted to find an objective parameter we would consider quality of the characters in their entirety I guess. So features like how much they fit the plot, how much they render it functional and so on.

True. He's the only Calamity who tries hard all the time, he's way more useful than King and Queen but gets his ass kicked all the time. It's not really fair, to be honest.

Oda is the type of writer who keeps on picking on one character from a certain group... it's an annoying method & style of writing...

Jack took on the Scabbards and survived to still cause problems for the Alliance. Put some respect on the calamity's name.
