Speculations Possibility of Shanks vs Roronoa

Zoro doesn’t fight swordsmen just for the hell of it, he only fights his enemies. He won’t challenge his captain’s friend to a duel for selfish reasons.

I could see it happening but not in a serious manner. Say the SH's find Shanks base and sneak in or rush in guns blazing (will just be some friendly war games), either or could see Zoro getting lost and just happening to come across Shanks. After a brief clash Shanks respects that Luffy was able to get such a strong first mate and offers him a drink. Luffy catches up and the two are drunken sharing stories about him.

Or Mihawk pops up during the clash so Zoro goes after him.

Shanks will fight Luffy while Zoro will fight Mihawk. It has been established like that since the start of the story. Implying Zoro will fight Shanks also implies that Zoro will fight Shiki, BM, Vista which is not possible.
