Powers & Abilities Possible names for the next evolution of Sanjis fire

Ifrit is just a translation choice? It’s Majin Jambe. The Ifrit is just a known Fire Jinn which is why it got translated like that.

No. It's Diable and Ifrit Jambe respectively.

Akuma and Majin are the Kanji Oda chose to use for those readings. In the anime they are pronounced that way, and in the manga the furigana is literally Diable ( ディアブル ) and Ifrit ( イフリート ).

This linguistic device is called Ateji (当て字), but in the specific context of manga and anime, it is more precisely known as Gikun (義訓).

So, if Oda decided to name it Surtr Jambe, for example, it would be pronounced (スルト), and the Kanji would probably be something like 巨神 (Kyoshin = Giant God).

But why would Oda suddenly switch up his naming scheme? Akuma and Majin (Diable/Ifrit) maintain a devil theme that the power is based on. As such this suddenly transferring to a giant themed name would feel fully out of left field.

So why not just go for the final level of demonology and just go with Maou (魔王) as it has The Devil Kanji like all current forms rather than completely swapping themes. And the pronunciation could easily be “Satan” (さたん) since that’s a commonly known individual in myth through all countries as the strongest Devil.

Idk would be weird for oda to just completely abandon the Devil thing which is so ingrained in the ability

I also think Maoh will be the natural choice because it has also King theme so when he combines Majin with Kings haki it'll naturally be Maoh.

I expect Germa genes to be explained further but I think Sanji's power up will be from Conqueror's Haki since gaban has it. But how will he have it is whole another topic. I think his genes will kick in again like in Wano and he will be self-conscious to give his all not to lose control and maybe Killingham even create Sanji's fears. Then he will hesitate and will get a few beat then question what he lacks for. Then like Zoro awakened CoC to control Enma, he will awake CoC to control his genes. I would love if this happened because Zoro and Sanji are always shown as two sides of a coin. Zoro's mother's name is Terra (earth or soil) and Sanji's mother's name is Sora (sky). Zoro is better at strength and Sanji is better at speed. Zoro fights on the ground and Sanji fights on the sky. They always balance each other so if Zoro wants to be the King of Hell, Sanji may want to be the King of Heaven. Zoro had said he would make his name known even in heaven. Absolute cinema

With that logic Luffys mothers name will probably be Umi.

No one said anything about changing the naming scheme. I believe Maou breaks the naming scheme by not referencing foreign mythological figures.

I'll bet my life savings the next Jambe will NOT be Maou Jambe, if we'll even get one.

If we do get one, it'll 100% be some fire-related demon/devil/entity from ANOTHER culture. Not Japanese.

The Maou would just be the Kanji and it’ll be spoken as Satan. Which is exactly what the naming scheme you want which is the foreign mythical figures without breaking the naming scheme where every single Jambe uses the Kanji for Devil in it.

Unlikely, as Diable is already a direct reference to Satan. This is made clear when Sanji first uses it and drops the quote about food and spices, making a parallel between God and "The" Devil, not just a regular one.
