Character Discussion Post-timeskip Crocodile

What do you think has happened to Crocodile since Marineford? We only know that he went to the NW with Mr 1 and that we have seen him in an office (probably his NW base of operations) reading the newspaper.

My theory is that he has recruited a new crew similar to his original crew (not Baroque Works), with people he trusts as Mr 1. I also think that after Doffy's fall he has tried to become the new Joker of the Underworld, since he is equal or more intelligent than Doflamingo. Finally I’m sure that when he appears again he will be much stronger than in Marineford, possibly with CoO and CoA.

He could be the shadowy figure following Robin and Jinbe. I mean he’s following Robin, a former crewmate, and Jinbe, a former Shichibukai. I could see him also gaining crewmates in Wano.

I don't think Doffy is much smarter than Crocodile. The advantage Doffy had was his contacts in the Underworld and the WG. Crocodile didn't have these advantages and yet he fooled an entire country by posing as a hero just like Doffy. Besides, Crocodile's plan was better, as he could have gotten Pluto and become a bigger threat than Doffy. Still, both are great villains.

I think the next time we see him he will have a common goal with Luffy and will ally himself with him. I am curious as to whether Crocodile will meet Vivi again. It would be ironic if he helped Luffy save Vivi (if she is really in danger) just as he helped him save Ace.

I think it's unlikely. Crocodile doesn't look like a pirate who would work for someone else. Besides, I don't think he would get along with Blackbeard.

I like the idea that he took over the underworld in the 2nd half of the Grand Line and considering that he operated in the first half as well, he may be running the whole Grand Line in the shadows. Either way, whatever he is doing, I am sure it is something big.
Maybe he is still going after an Ancient Weapon. If he aimed for something like that with his spirit broken, I can imagine that he is going after something even bigger with his spirit restored.

He will be featured in the Blackbeard arc most likely, as a way to justify his presence in the final war on Luffy's side

To be fair, Crocodile had Pluton as objective just like Doffy had Uranus as objective when Law was a child, also is not a matter of advantage: Doffy's flashback showed us that he started from the street and took the whole underworld under him (n the NW not the Paradise)
Doffy is THE Boss.
This is off topic tho and for sure both are great villains

I can see him being back in a role similar to the one of Capone: a temporarily alliance for a common goal (I'd say something regarding Teach cause I like the fact that Teach was the one taking Crocodile spot in the Warlord, a good 'parallelism')

Now that I think obout it another option could be some correlation with the Revolutionaries due to his precedents with Ivankov, doesn't fit that much tho (imo)

He wears now a white ring on his Ringfinger. Probably he is married, or about to marry someone

I think he's become a pirate again. Everything he built up back then has collapsed and as we know from the Baroque cover story, his secret dream is to be the Pirate King.
