I like the aesthetic, abilities, characters and designs of post timeskip.

But pretimeskip is superior in character development, story, plot/character consistencies, fights, plot twists, originality etc....

So yh pre timeskip >>> postimeskip. Post timeskip still has a chance....but highly unlikely to be as good since theres 2 arcs left at best, and majority of post timeskip has been trash so far.

The only big issue post timeskip is while the stakes and scale are bigger than ever the strawhats have felt like side characters for the most part. Exept luffy obviously

It makes sense because the whole kaido saga has been about gaing allies but it's still kinda unfortunate.
  1. Law and smoker overshadowed almost everyone in punk hazard
  2. Law even moreso in dressrosa along with the Colosseum fighters, and the riku family who had an unnecessary amount imo
  3. Wano has been all about the scabbards and samurai to the point where they've pretty much overshadowed the strawhats and supernova
I do enjoy most of those characters, there developments, and honestly still want way more of the supernova but cant deny how its kinda had a negative effect for the strawhats bar luffy

One of the main reasons wci is one of my favorite arcs post timeskip is because its actually about the strawhats for the most part. Even the swirly hat plot on zou was really nice

Tho i am expecting that post wano once everyone goes on their separate ways it'll be better for them again. Even if its just the strawhats relaxing on the sunny itd be nice

While the supernova get even more hyped off panel for the most part
:finally:

Yh I agree. WCI may have been badly written...but it was damn exciting because we always had SH content...and no boring side characters or flashbacks.

I love the world building and some character backgrounds we got in the post time skip (mainly Law/Doffy). The pre skip was amazing for the depth and background of the straw hats as well as their growth as a crew.

I don’t believe the quality of pre skip is that much greater than post, but the more centralized focus on the straw hats is why many fell in love with the series.

as of now pre>post but this is a better question to ask after the end of the series

Hate it, but it has good moments here and there.

The main problem with Post TS is that there are wayyyyy too many side characters that take precedence over the SHs, for example, Law.

While I like Law, I don’t like the fact that he has been sailing with the SHs ever since Punk Hazard. He has had multiple onscreen 1v1 fights while most of the SHs have had none.

Speaking of onscreen, let’s talk about how Oda loves to offscreen important fights. This has been happening for the entirety of Wano.
For example, Sanji Vs P1. How do you offscreen the ending to one of your main character’s fights while he’s showcasing a PU? Imagine if Oda offscreened the ending of Luffy Vs Blueno :gokulaugh:

well i don't think law screentime is that bad. He just gets major 1v1 fight only in punk hazard and dressrosa
he doesn't have lots of screentime in zou and wano in my opinion
good point at sanji though lmao

The only flaw post ts is
How the hell luffy from arlong/don kreig level to kaido level in just two years....
I mean he is the choseen one but 2 years is too short to magically become as strong as kaido who is right now the most powerful creature in OP world

The gag some times going beyond the line
- Momo rubing into women breast and taunting the adults
- Sanji peeking

Underage girl wearing 20% of clothes
Underage girl forced to be married
The Pervert shenanigans in One Piece are LIGHT compared to other series honestly, Theres master Roshi who straight up gropes women on a consistent bases, What Sanji did once with the raid suit is what 50+ year old Jiraya did on average with his "research" and he literally told Tsunade her chest gets bigger every time she loses people close to her. Theres the 7 deadily sins main character who gropes the hell out of a girl consistently, Fire Force gags consist of groping women a lot as well.

I don't take Post TimeSkip that serious. If anything, I just miss:

- Luffy's sleeveless red vest
- Nami's short hair
- Chopper's hat
- Robin's hime cut hair-style
- Franky's cyborg body (Pre TS I mean)

I don't like Luffy's red cardigan, but seems like we won't see it anymore... I guess...
Zoro's closed left eye is mysteriously annoying. When is Oda gonna tell us the story behind it? Did Zoro lose his eye to a baboon?
Franky's new body is...... ugh :pepeke:

Post timeskip ruined two of my used to be favorite characters which is Zoro and Robin, Zoro has that edgy and angry stray dog attitude and he barely smile or laugh like he used to pre-timeskip and Robin became a background character. Post-timeskip Luffy kinda overshadowed every other SH and they're barely shine on screen. WCI has the potential to fix all the mistakes that Oda makes but unfortunately Oda makes WCI more messy on the second half so I'm hoping that Wano arc will redeem Oda's flaws on post-timeskip in general and as a writer.

I love and hate the timeskip as a whole.

Things I hate include:

Yonkou being clowned by PIS instead of being taken serious

The Strawhats being flanderized (Usopp’s cowardice, Sanji’s perviness, etc)

Certain characters either become underutilized (Robin, Chopper, etc) or just get too many L’s (Zoro, Sanji, etc).

More plot holes than before like the Whitebeard Pirates suddenly not thinking to check back on Oden before his death.

The abundance of fanservice. I’m all for T&A but the timeskip tries too hard on that front. The Toei anime makes it all worse in that regard.

And like the others said, side characters outshining the crew. Looking at you Law and Sabo.

While I like that Haki gets fleshed out more, it becomes more convulsed than ever with different levels of it.
